Nichols, Stanstead and Seminary Undefeated after First Weekend2009-12-09
Teams compete in two venues for first time in NAPHA history
Nichols School (4-0), Stanstead College (3-0-1) and Wyoming Seminary (2-0-2) all finished the first weekend of competition without losing a game.
Nichols, playing at home, was at the top of their game defeating Appleby, Ridley, Gilmour and Trinity on Friday and Saturday. Defending champion Appleby managed their first win in their last game with a 6-0 score over TCS finishing the weekend 1-2-1.
At Stanstead College, the home team's only blemish was a 3-3 tie with Seminary. Three expansion teams competed for the first time last weekend with Kuper Academy (1-3), Rothesay Netherwood (2-2) and Stanstead all coming away with points in the standings.
The next league weekend will take place January 8-10, 2010 at Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario. Teams will play a cross over five game series against each team in the opposite division.
